The Journey so Far

Mr. Rajesh Patil, CMD of Pause Wines is an epicure and an avid traveler; and has been travelling to various parts of the world. As his passion for good wine grew, thoughts of producing good Indian wine started haunting in his mind. He began a deep research on the various wines and the food that pairs well with.

After an extensive research and development he did on the wines and the wine market, he embarked upon wine producing at Nasik. Now, he wanted to understand the likes and dislikes of the Indian consumers and to get their feedback on how his manufactured wines tasted. So, Pause Wines opened up a wine bar in Mumbai in the year 2007 and ran it for two years. The focus was very clear - to cultivate wine culture and draw the public to wine and pairing food with wines.

Finally, Pause Wines was launched in the open retail market in 2009; and there has been no stopping since then. The company has always looked at it as a business with passion, with an emphasis on health benefits of wine.

After slowly winning hearts of many all across Maharashtra and Goa, now Pause Wines is also available in other parts of the country like Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry. With growing popularity and the preeminent quality of Pause Wines, it is sure to reach all corners of India and be exported to different countries of the world very soon. Finding our favorite bottle of Pause Wines would not be difficult then.

The Pause Wines Shiraz varietal has bagged the Silver Medal in the Sommelier India Wine Competition held in the year 2009. In 2012, Pause Wines Shiraz varietal also won the Silver Medal at the first Indian Wine Consumer's Choice Awards.
